The Connection Between Helping People Quit Pornography and Stopping Sex Trafficking

The Connection Between Helping People Quit Pornography and Stopping Sex Trafficking

Sex trafficking is a global issue that affects millions of people, mainly women and children. Many organizations have been established to help combat this destructive industry, but the fight is far from over.

In recent times, there has been a growing movement to help people overcome pornography addiction, and it’s essential to understand how these two issues are connected. Here, we’ll explore how helping people quit pornography can ultimately help in the fight against sex trafficking.

The Sex Trafficking Demand

Porn fuels the demand for sex trafficking. The porn industry is a multi-billion-dollar industry that thrives on the objectification and exploitation of women. The demand for porn has led to an increase in demand for commercial sex, which in turn leads to the exploitation of vulnerable individuals, including women and children. By helping people quit pornography, we reduce the demand for sexual exploitation and, ultimately, decrease the demand for sex trafficking.

Pornography addiction or even regular consumption often leads to desensitization of the impact that pornography has on the individual or those around them. This desensitization makes it difficult for individuals to recognize the harms of sex trafficking.

When people watch porn, they’re often consuming content that portrays women as disposable objects that exist solely for the pleasure of men. This type of messaging can dull individuals’ empathy and create an environment where the exploitation of women and children is normalized. By helping people overcome their addiction to pornography, we can help them regain their empathy and encourage them to take action against sex trafficking. This premise is the foundation of the Road to Purity apostolate.

The Link of Porn and Sex Trafficking

The link between porn and sex trafficking is well-established – There are many studies that have documented the link between pornography consumption and the demand for sex trafficking.

These studies have shown that individuals who regularly consume porn are more likely to view women as sexual objects and are more likely to support the exploitation of vulnerable individuals. By helping people quit pornography, we reduce the demand for sex trafficking and create a safer environment for those who are at risk.

Why Does Porn Link to Sex Trafficking?

Pornography is a progressive disease or disorder. The science behind dopamine and the other chemicals introduced in the brain during sexual activity is highly addictive when in the environment of pornography. This is a result of the abuse of God’s human design of bonding and procreation with a spouse. The act of viewing pornography leaves the person to be ultimately unfulfilled of the intimacy, bonding, and the common union that sex was created for. The addictive nature of dopamine is quite often the catalyst for the addictive craving to seek more of the naturally created drug. This often results in the need for higher consumption and frequently the need to act out in person.

This is evidenced by the existence of over 10,000 illicit massage parlors nationwide (whore houses), and also over 1 million prostitutes nationwide. This is the simple business of supply and demand. The demand for pornography, for women in massage parlors, and for prostitutes is so great and growing so fast, the opportunity for the billion-dollar business of sex trafficking is exploding to simply meet this very lucrative business demand.

By helping individuals overcome pornography addiction, we can create a culture of respect for all individuals – Helping individuals overcome their addiction to pornography can help create a culture that values respect for all individuals. As more people understand the harms of pornography and recognize its connection to sex trafficking, they’re able to take a stand against the exploitation of vulnerable individuals.

By building a society that values empathy, kindness, and respect, we can create a world free from sex trafficking. Road to Purity and its mission of awareness, recovery, and formation strives to address these issues.

  • Hi, I want to comment on this because almost nobody talk about this. This is a hipersexualized society so talking sex is everywhere but there are others dangers, books, books like 50 shades of grey, I know one should be mature to read these books but still I know people personally that have problems in their marriage with false expectations after reading books like these or romantic books too that really are triple x soft porn “ romantic novels “ that are left everywhere. We must recover intimacy and something call “ privacy” and still we women should be keep ourselves from reading those books with men that only exist in the imagination of a fiverish mind.

    • Yes Adri, I agree, these types of “soft porn” books are just as dangerous as hard core. sometime more. they easily contaminate the persons mind as to what is acceptable and pervert authentic sexuality.
