Ever since the introduction of the smart phone and high-speed internet the pornography industry has exploded exponentially. Today one major porn supplier reports 120-160 million users on a daily basis. Estimates of all sources of internet pornography combined suggest a daily internet user base at over 300 million. Undisputed statistics reveal that 67% of men view porn on a weekly basis and over 11 million teens view porn on a daily basis. With the Covid-19 pandemic, reports show an increase of porn use by as much as 63% in some countries.
The fact is that pornography is a major factor in human sex trafficking worldwide. It also substantially fuels prostitution as well as has a major impact on the destruction of marriages and families with over 50% of divorces reporting one party having an obsession or addiction to porn. The addictive properties and physical effects are real and destructive with side effects of depression, anxiety, reduced I.Q. and erectile dysfunction just to name a few.
A Path to Freedom (Help us spread the word)
The apostolate ‘Road to Purity’ exists to create awareness and education paired with the healing of porn addiction. The best-selling book and workbook “40 Days to Freedom: Winning the Battle for Sexual Purity is now available online (for free), in an interactive program to help anyone battling with porn use. In late 2019, an unnamed consulting firm donated the resources to spearhead the over $30,000 project of programming and development to make this program a reality.
Briefly, the program helps the user develop strategies, create healthy boundaries, understand the “how and why” behind the craving for porn, understand their behaviors and guide the user through a 40-day interactive path to freedom. The interactive guide provides tracking for daily activities, tracks improvements, guides the user through prayer activities and helps heal the brokenness that results in the bondage to sinful sexual behaviors.
The program as originally released earlier in 2020 had a cost of $50. Due to the support of several sponsors, Road to Purity is now offering the program completely free to anyone who signs up by the end of May 2020.
